The Better Health Channel (BHC) was established in May 1999 by the Victorian (Australia) Government. The information on the site aims to help improve the health and wellbeing of the Victorian community. The website provides online health and medical information. http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/ National Health and Medical Research Council http://www.fda.com/ Is the U.S. Food and drug administration website. It provides a wealth of information and advice on a rage of health related issues as well as very specific information on food and drugs. It is a scientific organisation of medical practitioners, dietitians, scientists and other health care professionals interested in obesity research, treatment or public health initiatives directed at the prevention of obesity. It provides very useful information if you are contemplating and obesity surgery. This website is to introduce you to surgery for severe obesity and the specialist society that has been formed to encourage research, education and communication into this surgical specialty.
